Privacy Policy

The short version

MadMatch is a free tool built by Wladimir Llanos to help clubs and organizers run table tennis tournaments. We collect as little data as possible and we never sell it. If anything below is unclear, write to hi@madmatch.app.

What we collect

• Account data. Your name, email, and a hashed password when you sign up. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Tournament data. The players, matches, and scores you enter for your own tournaments. You decide whether each tournament stays private or becomes public on the spectator hub.
• Anti-abuse data. When someone reacts to a match or predicts a winner on the public hub, we store a one-way hashed version of their IP address with a salt, to keep one person from voting many times. Raw IPs are never stored.

That is the entire list.

How we use it

• Email. Only for things you would expect: account notifications and, only if you opt in, occasional product updates. We never sell, rent, or share email lists.
• Tournament data. Only to run the product. Private tournaments stay private; public tournaments are visible on the spectator hub by your own choice.
• Hashed IPs. Only for spam prevention. Never linked to your account, never shared.

Where it lives

Application data sits in a PostgreSQL database on a Hetzner VPS in Germany. Outgoing email goes through Resend (resend.com), which sees the address and message content but not your password or tournament data. If Google Analytics is enabled on the site, anonymized page-view data may be sent to Google. We do not enable session recording or any user-level tracking.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference, the tournaments and players you follow on the public hub, and which reactions you have already cast. None of that is sent to any server. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data at any time. Just email hi@madmatch.app and we will do it within seven days.

Children

MadMatch is not designed for users under 13. If you believe we have data about a minor, let us know and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and notify account holders directly.
